Heated Lash Leap Of Faith #Chella

Press Sample.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

I remember, when I was a young girl, watching my mom curl her eyelashes, and then trying to imitate her.  I didn't know what I was doing, and I'd always pinch myself.  I never did get the hang of eyelash curlers, so I just really haven't ever used them.  I don't know why, but I thought using a heated one might make a difference.

Luckily, getting started with Chella's Heated Eyelash Curler is easy.  It comes with a battery, and instructions on how to load up the battery and use the curler.

For this curler, Chella recommends putting on the mascara first.  I went with two coats, usually, letting them dry before applying the heat.
The curler itself looks like a weird toothbrush.  There are filaments under the teeth that heat up - you can see them glow when they're on, and you can definitely feel the heat.  Even though it's not very hot, the first time I tried putting the curler close to my eye, I was kinda freaking out.  What made me think that putting a hot thing near my eyeball was a good idea?!
The first time I used it, it took me a few tries to get it positioned right, and to leave it long enough to heat the lashes.  I was a little afraid of burning my lashes off!  I needn't have worried, though.  With a little practice, and a lot of respect for a hot tool, I was able to get get the hang of it.  The best technique for me was to put the curler as close to the lashline as I could, then push the lashes so that they would curl and stand higher, too.  So, I would move the curler towards my nose a little, as well as push the lashes away from the lashline.

I used to have lashes that had a lot of curl to them naturally, but they've straightened over the years, and I never really noticed how much until I curled them!  My eyes look so much more awake and my lashes look longer and, dare I say, more coquettish.  I was definitely batting my eyes more.
My smizing is super-sized with curled lashes!

I've tried the curler now with a few different mascaras, and it worked well with all of them.  Some felt a little crispy right after the heat, but then softened after a few minutes. Some never felt crispy.  I'm glad I didn't base my experience on just one mascara, and I encourage you to try some of your favorites to see how they each react to being heated.
Swirls inspired by my Chella-curled lashes!  I created these patterns using a dry marble technique with Ulta Silver Bells and China Glaze Pop The Trunk.
This was like a bungee-jumping experience for my face.  I was scared of doing it, but I'm glad I took the leap!  I really like the effect this heated curler has on my lashes - and it lasted until I took my mascara off.

Chella Beauty can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and on their website, where this Heated Eyelash Curler currently retails for $22.
